Bob Jones Opens New Special Education Wing
Madison City Schools celebrated the long-awaited opening of a wing at Bob Jones High School that will include special education classrooms.
Several school, city and state dignitaries were present for the ribbon-cutting on September 1, 2023. The timing around Labor Day had some significance, given the years of work and effort that went into finally adding special education classrooms at BJHS like at James Clemens High School. Classes there will be up and running Sept. 5 after Labor Day.
Travis Cummings, vice president of the Madison City Board of Education, said the new wing affirms the school system's mission statement of "Empowering ALL Students for Global Success."
