Madison, AL – Aug. 26, 2024 – Aubteen Pour-Biazar, a rising junior at Duke University and a current intern with the Madison Chamber of Commerce, recently completed a prestigious internship with the White House Chief of Staff’s Office this summer.

A native of Madison, Ala., and Bob Jones High School graduate, Aubteen is studying public policy, economics, and computer science at Duke University.

His academic journey reflects a passion for the intersection of science, technology, and policy, with a commitment to using evidence-based research to shape impactful public policy decisions.

Aubteen’s dedication to serving his community continues as he serves as a governmental affairs intern at the Madison Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he has played a crucial part in crafting the Chamber’s Public Policy Agenda, demonstrating his ability to translate complex issues into actionable policy proposals.

This summer, Aubteen joined the White House Internship Program (WHIP), a highly competitive program designed to provide emerging leaders with hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute to the White House’s mission. Aubteen supported the work of the White House Chief of Staff’s Office, working alongside a talented cohort of college students from across the nation.

Inspired by this experience, Aubteen is more determined than ever to address socioeconomic disparities and improve healthcare access. His passion for health policy research is exemplified through his role as a Duke-Margolis Scholar of Health Policy and Management, where he explores innovative solutions to pressing health challenges.

On campus, Aubteen has been a proactive leader, serving as a Duke Student Government Senator, Freshman Class Vice-President, and a member of The Cube, Duke’s living-learning community dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. These roles have allowed him to champion student voices and drive forward-thinking initiatives.

Reflecting on his summer at the White House, Aubteen shared, “The experience has been incredibly transformative. It has reinforced my commitment to leveraging policy to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. I am excited to continue pursuing this path and to contribute to advancing the quality of life in Alabama.”

Aubteen’s journey from Madison to Washington, D.C., underscores his dedication and potential as a future leader in public policy. The Madison Chamber of Commerce is proud to have been a part of his professional development and looks forward to witnessing his continued success.
